Behind the Vision

Mia Groff
Founding Director
Mia Groff spent her childhood studying ballet with the Dance Theatre of West Chester and later the Bottsford School of Dance in Rochester, New York. She founded Vermont Youth Dancers, with 5 local children, in 2006, with the mission of providing local dancers with opportunities to perform. VYD remains a program run completely by volunteers. Mia is grateful to her wonderful husband whose constant support has allowed her to work on this show, and is indebted to her incredible co-directors, and all her loyal cast members and families who have believed in and supported the vision of Vermont Youth Dancers: “I love you all!” |

Theresa Robinson
Co-Director
Theresa Robinson grew up in southern CT in a theatre family, acting, dancing, directing children’s theatre, assisting with costumes, and loved immersing herself in all aspects of community theatre. After taking different dance classes growing up, she studied dance at Lyndon State College, and ran their dance club program while majoring in Elementary Education. Theresa presently works in the front office of Brown’s River Middle School. Theresa now teaches Jazz & Theatre Dance classes for Synergy Center for Dance and Performing Arts. She loves working with Mia and is awe of this wonderful community of families who helps bring this wonder to the stage!! |
